Police Investigator Shot And Killed In Kabul’s Qarabagh District

Ministry of Interior officials on Tuesday confirmed that a member of the Criminal Investigation Department was killed in the Qarabagh district of Kabul province on Monday night.

At 10 pm gunmen shot at the vehicle of Abdul Khabir, a police investigator driving on the Kabul-Parwan highway in Qarabagh, according to officials.

Later on Monday “six other policemen, including the head of the police intelligence department, went to the area to investigate the incident and were wounded by an IED,” officials said.

The MoI and local officials have claimed the Taliban is responsible for the attack, but no group, including the Taliban, has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.

MoI officials said six policemen investigating the killing were themselves wounded by an explosion.
