Afghans Hope Gathering of Clerics Will Solve Nation's Problems

Residents of the provinces of Ghazni, Maidan Wardak, Kunduz, and Baghlan speaking to TOLOnews expressed hopes that the "Gathering of Islamic Clerics" will find a basic solution for the country's current economic crises and job shortages.

"We ask the gathering of Islamic Clerics to find a solution to the people's problems and economic challenges facing people," said Mohammad, a resident of Ghazni.

"We hope that the gathering will discuss the important issues of the country," said Azimullah, a resident of Wardak.

“They should form an inclusive government, which involves all of the people," said Nabi al Rahman, a resident of Ghazni.

“The decision of the ulema should be made in accordance with the instructions of the Holy Quran. Women should be given rights according to Islam,” said Zuhra Karimi, a  resident of Baghlan.

Meanwhile, some residents of these provinces hoped that the “Gathering of Islamic Clerics” will find a solution to the reopening of girls schools above the sixth grade.

"Make the right decision about the opening of girls’ schools and vote in favor of opening them," said Mohammad Yousef, a resident of Wardak.
