Recent Flooding in 23 Provinces Caused Causualties, Damage

The acting State Minister for Natural Disaster said that due to recent floods in 23 provinces, 9 people have died and 74 people have been injured.

According to the acting minister, nearly 1,800 houses have been destroyed due to flooding and also more than 20,000 acres of agricultural land have also been destroyed.

“In 23 provinces 9 people have died, 74 people were injured and 1,778 houses were destroyed,” said Mohammad Abas Akhund.

Zari district in Balkh province witnessed a flood last week.

“Floods came and destroyed our home,” said Mohammad, a resident of Zari.

“Nothing has remained for us, we were not able to save our home belongings and we saved people by using ropes in the water,” said Raz Mohammad, a local resident.

Meanwhile, some flood-affected people called on the Islamic Emirate and aid organizations to help them.

“We demand help from the government and aid organizations to help the people,” said Fazil Rahman, a Zari resident.

“We request help us so that our people do not perish,” said Aman Ali, an elder.

As a result of the recent flood, 1,779 houses and 22,000 acres of agricultural land were destroyed.
