Herat Initiates Community Aid for Afghanistan's Flood Victims

The aid campaign for the flood victims of the country has begun by the people in Herat.

Citizens, to the extent of their ability, are collecting financial and non-financial aid for these flood victims and will later deliver it to the flood-affected areas.

Abdul Qudoos Khateebi, the organizer of the campaign, said: "We considered it our religious and moral duty to do whatever we can, little or much, to at least provide some help for the needy of our country in these critical conditions."

According to the organizers of this campaign, a shipment of these public donations has been sent to the flood victims in Ghor.

Ramez, who came to help the affected, says that in the current situation where the flood victims in Baghlan, Takhar, Ghor, and some other provinces of the country have lost everything, it is necessary for citizens to cooperate with them to the extent of their ability.

Ramez Yousufi told TOLOnews: "Disasters like earthquakes and floods have happened in Afghanistan, and we brought tents and clothes because these will not be lost before God."

A number of Herat residents are asking the citizens of the country not to forget the victims in Baghlan and other provinces.

Hafizullah, a resident of Herat, said: "We should provide help for the flood-affected people as much as we can; they were our brothers who helped us during the earthquake, now it's our turn."

Khaled, another resident of Herat, said: "People should help with whatever they can, be it tents or clothes."

Recent floods in some provinces of the country, including Baghlan, Takhar, Ghor, Badakhshan, and Samangan, have taken the lives of hundreds.

Residents of these provinces have also lost homes, properties, agricultural lands, livestock, and orchards in these floods and are in need of immediate help.
