A businessman has built a rice processing factory in Kunduz at cost of $5 million, providing direct and indirect employment opportunities for more than 5,000 people.
This factory processes and packages 300 tons of rice in 24 hours.
Muhammadullah Aini, the head of the rice processing factory, told TOLOnews: "We have invested up to $5 million in this factory. The factory produces 300 tons in 24 hours, and this production is of five types."
Saif Khosti, the marketing manager of this factory, said: "We process 8,000 tons of materials in a month, which comes to 300 tons in 24 hours. We have 150 workers, and farmers are also working with us."
Some of the individuals employed at this factory also urge other businessmen to invest in the country to reduce unemployment rates.
Rohullah, a worker at the rice processing and packaging factory in Kunduz, said: "We ask traders to establish such factories to provide job opportunities for Afghans. Unemployment is high in Afghanistan."
Nisarullah, another worker at this factory, said: "We are very happy that such a large factory has been established and is operating in Kunduz."
Meanwhile, the Kunduz Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock has said that to promote domestic production, they will market the products produced in this province.
Salahuddin Wahidi, the head of the agriculture department of Kunduz's Department of Agriculture and Irrigation, told TOLOnews: "Some time ago, we organized an agricultural exhibition. we will have several more exhibitions this year to find good markets for domestic products."
Kunduz, located in the north of the country, is considered an important agricultural and livestock province, and its rice is well-known throughout the country.
