Sheberghan Residents Concerned Over Halted Ring Road Project

Residents of Sheberghan, the capital of Jawzjan province, have expressed concerns about the halt of the city's ring road project and are urging for its continuation. They said that with the winter season and rainfall approaching, their problems are set to multiply.

Habibullah, a resident of Jawzjan, said, "Our problem is that in summer we face dust, and in winter we deal with mud, which has also led to a lot of illnesses among us."

Another Sheberghan resident, Naqibullah, said: "Our sixty-meter road is unpaved. One of our other areas has been developed, and the people there are satisfied, but our area remains unpaved. The large vehicles passing through here create dust, and it bothers us."

The Jawzjan Directorate of Public Works said that they have brought up the ring road issue with the leader of the Islamic Emirate. Assadullah Masroor, the head of the Jawzjan Public Works Department, said: "When Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Islamic Emirate, visited Jawzjan, we raised this suggestion. Once the leadership approves, work on this project will resume soon."

Previously, several citizens had called on officials in the caretaker government to restart the unfinished projects from the previous government and address the people’s issues.
