Several cultural figures and writers in Balkh province emphasized the need for more programs to honor and introduce the works of pioneers of Persian literature.
They believe such programs can help rediscover and convey the teachings of these figures' works to the younger generation.
This call was made during an event honoring the legacy of Abu'l-Qasim Ferdowsi, the prominent Persian poet and epic writer.
"Today, the content of Rumi's Masnavi has gained global influence and has been translated into various languages.
Ferdowsi's Shahnameh addresses concepts like knowledge, justice, honesty, and salvation alongside its myths, which can serve as lessons for the youth and future generations.
The purpose of this event is to commemorate such teachings,” said Ahmad Nawid Masoud, the organizer of the event.
"Our literature and culture are vast and cannot be limited to a few figures. Through similar gatherings, we must also introduce other luminaries of literature,” said Mohammad Saleh Rasikh, a university professor.
The Balkh Writers Association assured continued commitment to organizing such programs in the province.
"A nation that knows its cultural identity and history can better serve its country. Interest in culture strengthens patriotism,” said Saleh Mohammad Khaliq, the head of the association.
During the event, a written work by a Balkh-based writer titled "A Study of the Dari Dialect of Sancharak" was unveiled.
"This book is one of the significant works in the field of dialectology and linguistics in academic and university circles. The work was published with 500 copies in Turkey and consists of 216 pages,” said Mohammad Faheem Karimi, theauthor of the book.
Previously, poets, writers, and cultural figures in other provinces of Afghanistan had also urged the interim government officials to pay more attention to organizing cultural programs and publishing artistic works.
