The initial phase of building a residential township in the Ali Lala area, part of Ghazni city, has commenced.
According to officials, the township will consist of 810 blocks and 4,400 apartments and is expected to be completed within the next two years.
Abdullah Hamad, deputy governor of Ghazni, said: “The total area of this project is 3,090 acres of land. This project will provide essential facilities for the people of Ghazni and other traders.”
Bilal Muttaqi, director of housing in Ghazni, said: “In this township, 4,400 residential units and 810 blocks will be constructed, including 450 five-story blocks and 360 six-story blocks. The project will be completed in two years.”
Some residents of Ghazni consider the launch of this township a positive step, emphasizing that it will address the housing shortage and offer commercial facilities.
Mohammad Sharif, a resident of Ghazni, said: “People have moved to Ghazni from other provinces and surrounding areas. Currently, Ghazni residents face a housing shortage. This township will be very beneficial for the people.”
Mohammad Ibrahim, another resident of Ghazni, stated: “This township will provide opportunities for traders and also serve as housing for people. We are very pleased with the government for initiating this project.”
Mohibullah, another resident of Ghazni, said: “It has been hard to find suitable homes in Ghazni city, and overcrowding has become an issue. However, with the construction of this township, better homes will be available for the people.”
Officials noted that the plan for the township was approved in 2014 (1393 solar year), and now, under a decree from the leader of the Islamic Emirate, the practical implementation of the project has begun.
