3-Day Kandahar Exhibition Highlights Afghanistan’s Domestic Industries

Domestic products were showcased in 150 booths at a three-day exhibition held in Kandahar.

The organizers stated that the purpose of the exhibition was to support local products and promote domestic industries.

Several Afghan industrialists highlighted that these products are of higher quality compared to imported goods.

Shirbaz Kaminzada, head of the Chamber of Industries and Mines, commented on the event: "This exhibition was held in the beautiful city of Kandahar, with 150 factories participating. We have achieved self-sufficiency in 137 sectors and even export products."

Key items displayed in the booths included food products, vehicles, dried fruits, and carpets.

Nasrullah Bahlol, an industrialist from Kandahar, told TOLOnews: "Our products are of high quality. We have exported a type of pomegranate juice to India, where it has high demand and many customers."

Sharifullah Habibi, another Kandahar-based industrialist, said: "There are 10 types of dried fruits in Kandahar that we export globally, and we can meet any international demand."

Meanwhile, some residents of Kandahar emphasized the importance of such initiatives to support local production and strengthen the country’s economy.

Najibullah Zaland, a resident of Kandahar, said: "You know that exhibitions are very beneficial for supporting industries and marketing products. In addition to our appreciation, we call for the continuation of such efforts."

In the current solar year, domestic products have been displayed not only in several international exhibitions in Kabul but also in provinces such as Nangarhar, Balkh, Khost, Kunduz, and Herat.
