A Poetry Night program was held in Sheberghan, the capital of Jowzjan province, with the participation of poets, writers, and youth.
The event aimed to promote and expand literary-cultural activities and to encourage young people to engage in reading and book culture.
Several poets and young participants highlighted the value of such programs in strengthening the culture of reading and expanding literary activities. They urged the youth to contribute to the country’s progress through reading and gaining knowledge.
Qamaruddin Poya Aziz, a poet and writer, stated: "Youth can present their poems and writings through these programs. Such gatherings provide an opportunity to benefit from others' experiences and to nurture talents."
Abdul Ghafoor Makhdoom, another poet and writer, said: "Organizing this Poetry Night keeps the culture of reading alive among young people and helps strengthen it."
Shafiullah Haidari, a resident of Jowzjan, said: "Such gatherings are highly beneficial for promoting reading, increasing knowledge, and spreading the culture of book reading."
Meanwhile, the Jowzjan Directorate of Information and Culture expressed its support for organizing literary and cultural programs and emphasized the continuation of such initiatives.
Ahmad Shahrokh Joyenda, head of culture and tourism at the Jowzjan Directorate of Information and Culture, stated: "Poetry Night is part of the directorate’s programs. Poets and youth eagerly organize such events during winter nights, which have proven effective in promoting the culture of reading and book culture."
According to the Jowzjan Directorate of Information and Culture, more than 40 scientific, literary, and cultural programs have been held in the province since the beginning of the current solar year, playing a significant role in encouraging and raising awareness among young people.
