Over 65,000 Passports Issued in Nangarhar This Year

Officials of Nangarhar Police Command have stated that more than 65,000 passports have been distributed in the province during the current solar year.

These passports were issued over the past 10 months to traders, patients, the elderly, and the public. Following the return of the Islamic Emirate to power, the demand for passports in the country has increased significantly, and the distribution process has faced challenges.

Bilal Hilal, deputy director of the passport office at the Nangarhar Police Command, said: “So far, we have distributed 65,495 passports, including 57,185 online passports and 8,085 offline passports. The offline passports were distributed to patients, the elderly, and Mujahideen. Additionally, 25 commercial passports have also been issued.”

Meanwhile, several Nangarhar residents have called on officials to provide more facilities in the passport distribution process.

Sayed Taieb Hamaad, the spokesperson for the Nangarhar Police Command, said: “Currently, patients, the elderly, residency permit holders, and traders can visit in person and submit their passport applications.”

“My son fell from a tree and fractured his spine in five places. We want his passport to be printed here in Nangarhar.” Said Rohullah, a resident of Nangarhar.

Kerimat Shah, another resident of Nangarhar, added: “Along with the passport registration process, printing facilities should also be provided in Nangarhar to reduce the two-week waiting time, allowing people to receive their passports in this province,” said Rohullah, a resident of Nangarhar.

Meanwhile, officials have stated that the passport distribution process has also accelerated in Kunar, Laghman, and Nuristan provinces.
