Transport Ministry Spent 8.6B Afs on 98 Projects in 3 Years

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced that over the past three years, it has spent 8.6 billion afghani on 98 transportation projects.

Sediqullah Abid, the deputy minister for finance and administration of the ministry, stated during the inauguration ceremony of a new ground terminal in Ghazni province that 58 projects were launched in 1402 and 1403 with a budget of 5 billion afghani from the Islamic Emirate.

“Currently, we have 40 projects underway with a total value of 3.6 billion afghani. Additionally, in 1402 and 1403, we launched 58 other projects funded by the Islamic Emirate with a total cost of 5 billion afghani,” he said.
Sediqullah Abid also emphasized that 10 acres of land have been allocated for the construction of electronic centers in the country, aimed at facilitating and improving the transit process.

“Ten electronic centers will be built across the country, with 10 acres allocated for each. One of these centers will be established in Ghazni province,” Abid said.

At the same time, local officials in Ghazni announced that construction work on a land terminal and the Transport Directorate building in the province has begun with a budget of 44 million afghani and is expected to be completed within 12 months.

“The building for the transport directorate, a mosque, and a waiting area at the Kabul vehicle terminal will be constructed to provide better services for passengers,” said Khairullah Toakali, the head of Ghazni Transport Department.
Residents have also welcomed this initiative.

“This is very good. Previously, vehicles were parked on the roads. Now a mosque and other facilities are being built at the terminal,” said Bilal Ahmad, a resident of Ghazni.

“We are hopeful that more such projects will be implemented. Currently, we go to the market for prayers, but with the mosque built here, we can pray right at the station,” said Mohammad Bashir, a driver.

Local officials in Ghazni also added that a new bus terminal will be constructed this year to help reduce congestion in the city of Ghazni.
