Afghan security forces retook the control of Tala Wa Barfak district in Baghlan province after it fell to the Taliban on Wednesday, local officials confirmed.
Commander of Special Force Unit In Baghlan, Munib Amiri, said the district was retaken from the Taliban insurgents during a joint military operation carried out by Afghan police and army soldiers.
Meanwhile, a number of sources said the Taliban left the district without any resistance after they overrun it two days ago.
