At least seven people died in a traffic accident in Herat province on Monday evening, local officials said Tuesday. 

The accident occurred in Karukh district of Herat province when two passenger busses collided, district governor Wahid Azadani said. 

Three others were injured in the accident, Azadani said. 

Azadani said that reckless driving was the cause of the accident.
