At least six security force members were killed in a Taliban attack in northern Kunduz province on Saturday night, a security source said on Sunday.
The attack took place in Imam Sahib district as Taliban fighters attacked security checkpoints, said the source.
“The Taliban attack was pushed back after the arrival of the reinforcements,” the source said, adding: “The Taliban have escaped from the area.”
“Five army soldiers and a policeman were killed in the attack,” he said. “Four Taliban were also killed and two others were wounded.”
However, the local security officials and the Taliban have not yet commented on the attack.
