Taliban’s shadow district governor for Qala-e-Zal district of northern Kunduz province and eight other insurgents were killed in an air strike on Sunday night, the Ministry of Interior Ministry (MoI) said in a statement on Monday.
In addition, four other insurgents were wounded.
The air strike took place in Qala-e-Zal district of the province after the air force targeted the insurgents, the statement read adding that “one vehicle and weapons were also destroyed.”
The Taliban has not yet commented on the airstrike.
Qala-e-Zal fell to the Taliban two weeks ago but security forces retook control of the district last week after carrying out a military operation.
