The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said on Friday that Taliban’s intelligence commander in Faryab province was killed in an airstrike carried out by Afghan forces in the province.
Ghafoor Ahmad Jawed, spokesman for the ministry, said Qari Sibghatullah was Taliban’s intelligence commander for Faryab province.
Jawed said Sibghatullah was responsible for attacks on military personnel and civilians in the province.
Taliban has not comment on the report.
This comes as the Acting Defense Minister Asadullah Khalid visited Faryab province last week where he said the Afghan Army will continue their operations to suppress militants in the province.
