The "Taliban" killed four members of a family, including a tribal elder, in Maidan Wardak province on Friday, local officials said on Sunday.

The incident happened in Chak district after the Taliban shot “the tribal elder, his wife, son and grandson,” said Mohib Sharifzai, a spokesman for the provincial governor.

The officials did not provide further details.

However, the Taliban denied involvement and said that the “people were killed close to a government checkpoint.”
