Taliban Kills "At Least 16 Afghan Army Soldiers" in Kunduz

At least 16 Afghan Army soldiers were killed in a Taliban attack on Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province, Afghan security sources told TOLOnews on Wednesday.

Another ten soldiers were taken hostage by the Taliban, said the source.

Also, Fatima Aziz, a PM from Kunduz, said "16 were killed Baghe Shirkat."

Violence has increased around the country as Taliban leadership told its troops on Monday to resume attacks on the Afghan government, following a peace deal between the United States and the Taliban in the wake of a Reduction in Violence (RIV) period from February 22-29. A sticking point in the continued peace process is a dispute between President Ashraf Ghani and the Taliban over a prisoner release.
