Three Civilians Killed in Suicide Attack on Afghan MP in Kabul

At least three civilians were killed and 22 others including Afghan Member of Parliament, Shukria Barakzai, were injured in a suicide attack in Kabul City Sunday morning, local officials said.

The attack took place at about 10:30 a.m. when a suicide car bomber detonated his explosives near the vehicle of MP Barakzai, police officials said.

Barakzai survived the attack and walked away with minor injuries.

The Ministry of Interior spokesman, Sediq Sediqqi, tweeted that Barakzai "is fine and suffers small injuries and reports of her family killed in this attack are not true."

The victims of the attack have been taken to a nearby hospital.

No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
