UK Appoints New Ambassador To Afghanistan

The United Kingdom has appointed Sir Nicholas Kay KCMG as its new ambassador to Afghanistan, Britain’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in a statement on Thursday.

Nicholas Kay will succeed Dominic Jermey who was appointed to the post in February 2016. 

He will take up his appointment in August 2017.

Nicholas Kay has worked as UK Regional Coordinator in Afghanistan in 2006-2007.

He is serving as the United Kingdom Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa since 2016.
