National Museum Sees Surge in Visitor Numbers

Officials at the National Museum report an increase in the number of visitors in recent days.

They said that since the beginning of the solar year, more than five thousand people have visited the National Museum.

According to the officials, most of the visitors are foreign tourists, university students, and school students.

Mohammad Yahya, the deputy director of the National Museum, said: "Since the beginning of this year, we have had more than 5,000 visitors, most of whom were students.”

Yahya said that the revenue from ticket sales to visitors has exceeded 111,000 afghani. He also pledged that the necessary facilities will be provided for visitors.

He said: "Our revenue comes solely from individual visits, which are generated from ticket sales and have so far reached 111,530 Afghanis."

Some residents of the capital, emphasizing the importance of museums as transmitters of the country's history, stressed the need to raise awareness about the importance of the National Museum.

Sayed Sami, a resident of Kabul, said: "A museum represents the historical identity of a country where ancient artifacts are preserved."

Obaidurrahman, another resident of Kabul, said: "A museum showcases the culture, customs, and traditions of the country. The Ministry of Information and Culture should inform the public about the importance of the museum."

Previously, on International Museum Day, museum officials inaugurated three exhibitions featuring the Bronze Age, Ai-Khanum, the Islamic period, and the National Museum's dedicated restoration section.
