Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture at the Ministry of Information and Culture, has emphasized the development of national languages in the country.
During a regular meeting of the High Council of Languages, attended by members of the Ministries of Higher Education, Education, and the Academy of Sciences, Azizi stated that all languages have rights within the system and that work must be done on them.
Khobaib Ghafran, spokesperson for the Ministry of Information and Culture, said, "In this meeting, the Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture reiterated that all languages have rights within the system and must be strengthened, as they are symbols of the identity of nations and ethnicities."
Meanwhile, some experts have emphasized the importance of national languages but have also called for the strengthening of other languages in the country.
Omar Mokhtar Nikzad, a university professor, stated, "Educational centers must be established so that we can strengthen these languages. The culture of our society, which today is a unique culture in the world, also has some of the most unique and sweetest languages."
Sayed Shah Goharpour, another university professor, said, "In addition to having national languages that are enshrined in the Constitution of Afghanistan and spoken by the majority of the population, we have more than two hundred dialects across the geography of Afghanistan."
Previously, officials from the Ministry of Information and Culture, during a program outlining their one-year achievements, announced the establishment of the National Council of Languages in the country.
