The Ministry of Information and Culture said it has undertaken 13 projects in six provinces of the country to protect and restore historical monuments.
According to the ministry, the work on these projects started this solar year, and the provinces of Herat, Kandahar, Bamyan, Ghor, Ghazni, and Kabul are included in this program.
Khubaib Ghufran, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Information and Culture, said: "In the year 1403 of the solar calendar, the Ministry of Information and Culture has undertaken 13 projects for the preservation and restoration of historical monuments in six provinces."
In Afghanistan, due to decades of war, this sector, like others, has not remained immune to damage.
Some university professors believe that the restoration and repair of historical monuments are not only important for preserving cultural identity but also play a significant role in strengthening the economy and attracting foreign tourists.
University professor Khalil Ahmad Kamjoo said: "Countries that have historical and ancient monuments attract many tourists. This can be a significant source of income for that country."
The restoration and repair of historical buildings are among the most valuable branches of architecture, ensuring that a historical monument remains preserved for many years.
