Afghanistan’s ArtLords painted a mural on freedom of the press on a wall in London on Thursday as members of the art group attended the Defend Media Freedom Global Conference in England on July 10.
ArtLords said the mural was painted as the Afghan officials, journalists and reporters from other countries attended the media freedom conference.
The mural was painted on a wall near the conference venue.

The ArtLords chairman Omaid Sharifi said that by painting the mural they wanted to reflect the role of freedom of the press in Afghanistan.
He said that they demonstrated the challenges Afghan media outlets through the mural.

Sharifi said in a tweet that more than 200 people left their marks on the mural. “This is our statement for protection and support of journalist and free press all over the world,” he tweeted.
