An Afghan fashion designer works to promote Afghanistan’s traditions and culture to the world by holding fashion shows in different European countries where people know Afghanistan as a war-ravaged country.

Nawid Zazai says his designs can play an important role to persuade the European countries to continue their assistance to Afghanistan.

“I have organized many fashion shows in various cities including Amsterdam and London and my recent show was in Paris,” he said. “The main purpose of these shows is to promote Afghanistan’s traditions and cultures to the world and also those things which the world does not know about them except the war.”

Zazai, who recently organized a fashion show in the Netherlands, said the show was also aimed at giving a perception about the plight of Afghan women who are faced with various types of violence.
