Pro-Women’s Rights Artists Open Kabul Exhibition

A group of 20 artists, including 12 women, on Thursday opened an art exhibition in Kabul in an effort to support women’s rights and showcase problems faced by women in Afghanistan.

One artist, Nawin Tahiri, said she wants to help reduce challenges women in the country face.

“Pictures can explain better than words. They can deliver messages to those viewers who aren’t literate,” she said.

“I hope their skills are used in a way that can address the demands of today’s society and reflect their problems,” said Sabir, a lecturer at Kabul University.
