Qadir Farookh, an Afghan Film and Theater Actor, Dies In Turkey

Relatives of Qadir Farookh, one of the country's most renowned cinema and theater actors, said Monday that Farrokh died Sunday night.

Farukh was bedridden with sickness for a long time, according to Farukh’s relatives, who said he died of heart disease in a hospital in Turkey.

73-year-old Farukh was born in 1947 in the Bagh-e-Alimardan area of PD1, Kabul city.

Farukh had nine children, relatives said.

Farukh is the son of Farookh Afandi, a painter, musician, jazz orchestra leader and founder of an Afghan musical notation system.
