BAZAR:More Than 70 Percent Of Afghans Live Below The Poverty Line

Initial surveys on poverty in the country show that more than seventy percent of Afghans are living in poverty.

Based on preliminary findings, given the high unemployment and underemployment, the number of people living in poverty in Afghanistan has increased in recent years.

On the other hand, a number of economists in the field of economics consider the measurement of a poverty line unrealistic and they say that if the measures are based on global standards, then about 90 percent of the country's population will be in poverty.

In this episode host Zarmina Mohammadi discusses the topic with Iraj Faqeri, an economist.
