Intl Flights Increasing from Afghanistan

The Ministry of Transport and Aviation said that the country's airports have around 30 flights daily.

The spokesman for this ministry said that most of these flights are from Kabul, Herat, Balkh and Kandahar Airports to other countries.

"Currently we have flights to Turkey, Uzbekistan and Abu Dhabi, and to Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, China and some other countries," said Amamuldden Ahmadi, spokesman for Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation.

Ahmadi added that "in 24 hours 100 airplanes crossed over our country's airspace and every flight pays $700 to Afghanistan."

Meanwhile the Chamber of Commerce and Investment said that the lack of air corridors means Afghanistan's domestic products cannot reach the world markets.

"Islamic Emirate take over made economic restrictions and that foreign companies work in this regard they are stopped now," said Khanjan Alokozai, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and Investment.

“After the Islamic Emirate came to power, the economic restrictions rose and international airline companies including Fly Emirate and Turkish Airlines stopped their activities," said Khanjan Alokoza, a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

“The air corridor can play an important role in the increase of trade. Unfortunately, due to the situation in Afghanistan there are few companies that are active which is not enough,”

According to the information of Transport Ministry at the moment India, China, and UAE import products via air corridors.
