Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat said that a committee has been established to collect debts.
DABS official Safiullah Ahmadzai said that this committee is made up of representatives of the company, intelligence, and the Ministry of Interior.
“This committee has been formed by the Prime Minister and led by Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, and it also includes intelligence and the Interior Ministry to collect the electricity bills of those who do not pay their debts,” said Safiullah Ahmadzai.
Meanwhile, according to this company’s numbers, in 1401 they collected 32 billion Afs in revenue and eighty percent of this income will be paid to electricity exporting countries.
In 1401 Breshna Sherkat had 32 billion Afs in revenue, eighty percent of this income will be paid to electricity exporting countries, and 20 percent will be used for internal expenses,” said Ahmadzai.
"Urgent measures must be taken, the medium-term plans should be implemented right now so that Afghanistan can reach a positive and self-sufficient path,” said Amanullah Ghalib, former head of Breshna Sherkat.
Several economists believe that investments in infrastructure can provide the country with needed electricity.
“We have about 8 billion cubic meters of Afghanistan's water resources, by creating large and small dams, it can provide most of the renewable energy from Afghanistan,” said Qutbuddin Yaqubi, an economist.
According to information of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, it’s expected that in 1402 the Mahiper turbine will be rebuilt, and the capacity of this dam should increase by 25 MW.
