Faizullah Tamim, acting head of the Afghanistan National Standards Authority (ANSA) said that more than 100,000 tankers of oil, gas and other fuels have been tested over the last year, of which 2,000 have been rejected due to low quality.
Speaking at a press conference on the organization’s annual activities, Tamim said that there has been a 15 percent increase in ANSA’s revenue compared to previous years.
“I want to assure all our countrymen that up to 70 percent of transparency has been ensured in the standardization process,” he said.
The officials of ANSA called on the traders to avoid importing low quality goods to the country.
“Those traders who lack access to national standard measures, they can refer to ANSA and receive it and continue their activities based on policies and standards,” said Ashoqullah Waziri, a spokesman for ANSA.
The deputy head of ANSA, Mohammad Asif Qanat, vowed to implement the standardization measures in various sectors.
“There are 775 standardization measures in engineering, development, construction, highways and bridge design,” Qanat said.
