Islamic Emirate Delegation Attends Kazan Forum to Attract Investment

Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi left for "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" at the head of a delegation to participate in the 15th International Economic Forum of Russia and the Islamic World.

Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, said that Azizi will also discuss attracting investment to the country with Russian officials on the sidelines of this meeting.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce told TOLOnews: "In addition to participating in this gathering, discussions will focus on facilitating trade, increasing investment between the two countries, and attracting investments in Afghanistan with Russian officials and other countries, as well as with major companies."

Meanwhile, the country's Chamber of Commerce and Investment considered efforts to attract investments in various sectors crucial for the growth and development of the country's economy.

"These trips are very beneficial and culminate in fruitful economic relations, and we hope that contracts will also be signed there,” said Khan Jan Alokozay, a member of the board of directors of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment.

A number of analysts believe that the participation of the Islamic Emirate's delegation in the economic meetings of regional countries significantly impacts the development of economic relations with these countries.

"The emphasis on this meeting is to attract investment for Afghanistan and to encourage people to come and invest in various sectors," Shams Rahman Ahmadzai, an economic analyst, told TOLOnews.

"Neighboring countries and other nations are spreading their industries over us and conducting trade; in return, we too must trade with them and have exports," said Mohammad Nabi Afghan, another economic analyst.

The International Economic Forum of Russia and the Islamic World is held annually, and last year Nooruddin Azizi, the acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, also participated in the forum representing the Islamic Emirate.
