Officials at the National Development Company said that they will construct six large bridges along the second phase of the Qosh Tepa Canal project.
They said that these bridges will be built to connect the districts and villages that the canal passes through.
According to them, work on the third bridge along this canal in the Dawlat Abad area of Balkh district is currently ongoing and has progressed by 28 percent.
Sayed Zabihullah Miri, the project manager of the Qush Tepa Canal, said: "In the second phase, six motor bridges are planned to be constructed. These bridges are intended to solve the transportation problems of the residents who are on the opposite side of the canal, connecting districts and villages such as Shortepa, Qarqeen, Khamaab, and other villages."
Some experts say that the construction of bridges along the Qosh Tepa Canal route will facilitate the movement of people around the canal and contribute to the economic growth of these areas.
Hamidullah Yelani, a water management expert, said: "Building these bridges not only aids in monitoring the project but also strengthens the social and economic ties between both sides of the districts and villages."
Shaker Yaqubi, an economic affairs expert, said: "What is important in the construction of these bridges is to ensure precision in their distance design so as not to create challenges for the transportation of commercial caravans and farmers."
Currently, the National Development Company has put two large bridges into operation along the first phase of the Qosh Tepa Canal.
