The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC) has said that Nooruddin Azizi, the acting head of this ministry, has presented the procedure for the Committee for the Regulation and Facilitation of Returning Traders and Industrialists for approval to the leader of the Islamic Emirate.
Akhandzada Abdul Salam Jawad, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, told TOLOnews that in the meeting of the Committee for the Regulation and Facilitation of Returning Traders and Industrialists, the number of returning industrialists and the review of documents for three industrialists were also discussed among the committee members.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce said: “In this meeting, the procedure of this committee, which has been submitted by the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for approval to the Amir al-Mu'minin, was discussed, along with the identification of the number of returning traders and industrialists by the committee, and the documents of three returning industrialists were reviewed and decisions were made.”
Meanwhile, the Chamber of Industries and Mines of the country has considered the creation of facilities to attract traders and industrialists to the country an important step. According to the officials of this chamber, the distribution of land and the provision of other facilities to traders and industrialists who are active outside the country and whose investments are at risk can have a significant impact on the growth and development of the country's economy.
Sakhi Ahmad Paiman, the first deputy of the Chamber of Industries and Mines, told TOLOnews: "We hope that those migrants who have invested outside of Afghanistan and whose investments are at risk will be assured that the Islamic Emirate will provide facilities, and Afghanistan is their country, they will return."
Some experts believe that supporting industrialists in the country can encourage other investors to return to the country.
Shakir Yaqubi, an economic expert, has this perspective: "If certain facilities and support, such as the provision of small loans and the fulfillment of some needs like energy and other necessities, are provided to production factories, it can play a fundamental role in strengthening Afghanistan's factories."
According to information from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Afghanistan has currently achieved self-sufficiency in the production of 133 items, which include 45 production sectors.
