On the morning of Thursday, August 15, a delegation from Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan arrived in Kabul.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Islamic Emirate said that the purpose of this visit is to enhance trade relations and attract investment in Afghanistan.
Nooruddin Azizi, the acting head of the ministry, stated that an exhibition of Uzbekistan's products is scheduled to be held in Afghanistan on August 18.
He added, "Today, we are witnessing the presence of about eighty-five high-level representatives from the Republic of Uzbekistan, including ministers. The topics under discussion include investment, transit, trade, quarantine, factories, and investment in railways."
Azizi highlighted that efforts are being made to increase Afghanistan's exports abroad.
He said, "In our conferences with the Republic of Uzbekistan, we are striving to balance exports."
At the same time, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, stated that the country is working to increase the volume of trade between Kabul and Tashkent.
He added, "In the first six months of this year, we witnessed a fourfold increase in exports from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan. This is one of the reasons why we want to create more opportunities and are negotiating the signing of a trade agreement to minimize barriers to imports and address economic challenges."
Earlier, an exhibition was held in Uzbekistan where around 300 Afghan traders participated and showcased Afghan products.
