Nooruddin Azizi, the acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, led a delegation to Kazakhstan to attend the second joint Afghan-Kazakh exhibition.
Azizi stated that over 250 Afghan traders from the private sector will showcase Afghan products for three days in 70 booths at the Afghan-Kazakh exhibition.
He described Kazakhstan as a good trade and economic partner for Afghanistan and added that trade between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan has increased by 120% in the past year.
Azizi said: "In this trip, representatives of various sectoral departments and more than 250 Afghan traders will participate, displaying various Afghan products in over 70 booths."
The acting Minister of Industry and Commerce said that during this trip, he will hold discussions with Kazakh officials on various topics, including banking relations, investment in Afghanistan's mining sector, health, education, telecommunications and technology, as well as the opening of the Eurasia gateway, which is an important route for Afghanistan's trade with Russia and Georgia.
Azizi further stated: "In the transit sector, we will have extensive discussions, and we will strive to open the Eurasia gateway, which passes through Kazakhstan, for Afghan products and goods. This is particularly important for perishable goods, which have a strong market in Russia, Belarus, and Georgia. We aim to open this gateway through Kazakhstan."
Abdul Zahoor Madaber, an expert on economic issues, said: "Through exhibitions, we can introduce Afghan goods to the world. One of the key aspects of trade is advertising, and the more we advertise and showcase our goods, the more positive impact it will have."
According to information from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the joint Afghan-Kazakh exhibition will be held from October 20 to 22, 2024, in Almaty, Kazakhstan, for a duration of three days.
At this exhibition, Afghan traders will display various Afghan products, including carpets, mineral stones, and agricultural products.
