The Ministry of Economy has welcomed the establishment of a joint working group between Kabul and Moscow and considers its role significant in expanding economic and trade relations between the two countries.
Earlier, Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, stated that this group would replace the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy said: "The Ministry of Economy of the Islamic Emirate welcomes the formation of a joint bilateral working group between Afghanistan and Russia and considers it a step toward strengthening political, economic, and trade relations between the two countries."
"This joint group primarily focuses on two aspects: first, transit, as Afghanistan is geopolitically positioned to serve as a transit hub connecting Central and South Asia. The second aspect is joint investments, with Russians showing interest in investing in Afghanistan’s underground resources,” said Abdul Naseer Rishtia, an expert on economic affairs.
"Russia’s political relations with Afghanistan at this time are undoubtedly beneficial for both the Afghan people and Afghanistan, as well as for Russia,” said Sayed Ebadullah Sadiq, a political affairs expert.
On December 18 (27 Qaws), the Russian parliament passed a law allowing the country's Supreme Court to suspend the bans on groups listed as blacklisted by Moscow.
