Kam Air, a private Afghan airline, on Friday began providing direct flights between Kabul and Kuwait.
Afghan Ambassador to Kuwait Sayed Jawad Hashemi inaugurated the maiden flight.
“This direct flight demonstrates our commitment to hasten the people-to-people link between the two countries,” Hashemi said, as quoted in a report by Kuwait Times.
The Civil Aviation Authority in a statement said the direct flights between Kabul and Kuwait will have a positive impact on the country’s economy.
The statement said the Civil Aviation Authority is committed to providing the foundation for direct flights between Afghanistan and other countries as well.
Kam Air officials said they operate in Boeing 737 and their flights are once in a week from Kabul to Kuwait, on Fridays.
