The Independent Election Complaints Commission (IECC) says in the past two days more than a thousand appeals have been filed with the commission. And these complaints have come from the election campaigns of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, Abdullah Abdullah and Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

The commission says they will be ready to start recounting by Thursday.

The IECC says the results of their investigation indicates that in 21 provinces 5,378 polling stations votes will be recounted.
