COVID-19 Latest: 17 of 265 Cases Test Positive in Afghanistan

The Ministry of Public Health on Thursday reported 17 new cases of the coronavirus out of 265 samples tested over the last 24 hours.    

So far, 107,858 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 4,931 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data from the Ministry of Public Health.    

In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported 2 recoveries from COVID-19.  

The number of total cases is now 38,872, the total reported deaths is 1,436, and the total number of recoveries is 32,505.    

The cases were reported in Kabul (5), Daikundi (3), Balkh (7), Laghman (1) and Nuristan (1) provinces.  

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 941,345 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 29,893,298, according to Johns Hopkins University.
