Afghanistan: 113 New Cases of COVID-19, 6 Deaths Reported

The Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday reported 113 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 576 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The Public Health Ministry also reported six deaths and 20 recoveries from COVID-19 in the same period.   

The new cases were reported in Balkh (22), Herat (21), Kabul (19), Ghazni (10), Kandahar (7), Nangarhar (1), Takhar (6), Kunduz (4), Baghlan (7), Badghis (8), Nimruz (1), Kunar (1), Samangan (3) and Zabul (3) provinces.  

According to the Public Health Ministry’s data, the cumulative number of total cases is now 41,145, the number of total reported deaths is 1,529, and the total number of recoveries is 34,237.   

So far, 121,490 samples have been tested in the government centers and there are 5,379 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, data by the ministry indicates.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 1,167,124 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 43,967,634, according to Johns Hopkins University.
