The Ministry of Public Health on Monday reported 46 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,886 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The Public Health Ministry also reported 13 deaths and 189 recoveries from COVID-19 in the same period.
The new cases were reported in Kabul (11), Herat (8), Balkh (2), Takhar (8), Paktia (1), Daikundi (1), Ghazni (2), Badakhshan (3), Badghis (3), Logar (2), Maidan Wardak (1), Khost (2), and Paktika (2) province.
The deaths were reported in Kabul (3), Herat (7), Parwan (1) and Khost (2) provinces, according to data provided by the Ministry of Public Health.
The Health Ministry stated that the cumulative total of known COVID-19 cases is 53,584, the total number of reported deaths is 2,301, and the total number of recoveries is 44,137.
So far, 216,550 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 8,588 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, data by the ministry indicates.
The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 1,935,613 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 90,298,391, according to Johns Hopkins University.
