188 New Cases of COVID-19, 7 Deaths Reported in Afghanistan

The Ministry of Public Health Friday reported 188 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 1,525 samples tested in the last 24 hours.     

The ministry also reported 7 deaths and 15 recoveries from COVID-19 in the same period.  

The new cases were reported in Kabul (25), Kandahar (25), Nangarhar (55), Balkh (3), Kunduz (2), Paktia (13), Faryab (1), Parwan (1), Maidan Wardak (4), Kapisa (5), Logar (12), Ghazni (13), Laghman (23), Zabul (2), Farah (1), and Paktika (3) provinces.  

The deaths were reported in Kabul (4), Nangarhar (1) and Kunar (2) provinces. 

The ministry reported that the cumulative total of known COVID-19 cases is 58,730, the total number of reported deaths is 2,572, and the total number of recoveries is 52,363. 

So far, 392,066 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 3,795 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, data by the ministry indicates.     

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 3,073,851 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is over 144,800,467, according to Johns Hopkins University.
