Afghanistan: 915 Cases of COVID-19, 51 Deaths Reported

The Ministry of Public Health on Monday reported 915 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 2,658 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The ministry also reported 51 deaths and 1,106 recoveries from COVID-19 in the same period.

The acting minister of public health, Wahid Majroh, on Sunday asked the people to celebrate Eid in their homes and to avoid gatherings, traditional greetings and going to each other’s homes during the festival to contain the spread of the virus.

He warned that COVID-19 cases will peak again if the people stay indifferent to health advice by the ministry.

Data by the Public Health Ministry shows that the total number of cases is 142,414, total deaths stand at 6,266 and total recoveries are at 89,706.

The total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the world stands at 190,526,225 and total deaths are at 4,091,672, according to Johns Hopkins University.
