The Central Blood Bank said that they donate nearly two hundred fresh blood packets to Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) patients every day.
"Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) disease is a major concern for the blood bank, as are thalassemia and hemophilia, because blood is required for treatment. With the disease, patients also receive the same elements for their final treatment, which is thrombocytes. The blood bank prepares the same elements for them,” said Mohammad Nasir Sadiq, head of the Central Blood Bank.
Some of the families of patients are asking the officials of the Ministries of Public Health and Agriculture to take steps to eradicate this disease.
They said that daily they prepare three packets of blood for their patients.
“To donate blood, we brought more than 70 to 80 of our friends to donate blood to someone who needed blood,” said Wahidullah, a relative of a patient.
“We asked the Ministry of Public Health to publicly advise the people to follow health rules, and the government should help them to spray disinfectant in every public place with lots of traffic,” said Jawed, a relative of a patient.
Meanwhile, the doctors of the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Kabul said that recently nearly 15 people suspected of Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever disease are admitted to this hospital every day.
