The authority of Abu Ali Sina-e-Balkhi Regional Hospital in Balkh province said that in 1402 (solar year) nearly 10,000 operations were performed.
Doctors at the hospital said that those operations were impossible in the past.
They asked the people to go to government hospitals for their operations.
Ashraf Rawan the head of Abu Ali Sina-e-Balkhi Regional Hospital said: “In 1402 (solar year), 9,488 patients were admitted to our hospital, for 9341 of them, major operations were performed.”
Doctors at Ali Sina-e-Balkhi Regional Hospital said they can do complicated operations in the hospital.
Kamran Hamnava, a doctor said: “Fortunately, at this hospital, with all the facilities, we seriously performed the free operation.”
“Now the majority of these operations are performed in Afghanistan, even those operations that are performed in Pakistan and India,” said Noor Muhammad Faiz a doctor.
A patient who uses health services expressed satisfaction but said the lack of medicine and medical equipment is one of the major challenges facing them.
Ahmad Khalid, a patient, said: “Doctors help very much, I bought most of the medicine, and the hospital contributed a certain amount of it."
“I am very happy for free treatment because I do not have more money to go to another hospital,” said Abdul Khaliq a patient.
