Health officials in Shinwari district of Parwan province have informed TOLOnews that the spread of an unknown disease in the Kafshan Valley of this district has increased.
According to the officials, over the past 24 hours, an additional 200 people have contracted the disease, and two have died.
Previously, local officials in Parwan reported that around 500 people had been infected with this unknown disease.
Habib Ur Rahman, the head of the clinic in Kafshan Valley, Shinwari district, Parwan province, updated the number of infected individuals to 700, adding, "Our statistics have reached 700 people as of today. Currently, we have two fatalities, and today we sent thirteen others to the Parwan Civil Hospital."
Anzer Gul, one of the tribal elders, spoke about the disease and the challenges, saying, "It’s a two-hour drive, and no one can provide help. An ambulance, medicine, and a doctor are needed."
Women and children are among those infected with the unknown disease in Parwan.
Jumma Khan, a local resident, expressed concern about the condition of his sick wife and daughter, urging the interim government officials and aid organizations to respond promptly to prevent the further spread of this disease.
Jumma Khan told TOLOnews, "I have two sick people; one is my wife, and the other is my daughter. Their condition is very bad, to the point that they cannot walk."
Abdul Wakil, another caretaker, said, "My son was in school when I was informed. When I arrived, his condition was very bad. He has a fever and is vomiting."
Physical weakness, severe muscle pain, diarrhea, and high fever are reported as symptoms of this disease.
