The World Health Organization (WHO) reported an increase in dengue fever and malaria cases in August compared to July.
According to the WHO report, dengue fever cases increased by 10%, and malaria cases surged by 153% in August.
The report also noted a decrease in other diseases such as acute diarrhea, Congo fever, measles, and acute respiratory diseases.

17.7% decrease in cases compared to July
Some doctors attribute the decrease in these diseases to early diagnosis and better screening processes.
Doctor Munir Ahmad Kamal said, "The reduction in these diseases is due to early diagnosis and improved screening. Effective diagnosis requires well-equipped laboratories and adequate facilities to ensure patients are identified and treated promptly."
Doctor Syed Abdullah Ahmadi said, "The WHO reports are based on data from areas with accessible health services. I believe the statistics should also be sourced from the Epidemiology Center of the Ministry of Public Health."
According to the WHO report, the organization provided health services to 666,250 people through 746 health centers across 286 districts in August.
