Noor Jalal Jalali, the acting Minister of Public Health, has traveled to Saudi Arabia to attend a conference titled "Resistance Against Antimicrobial Drugs."
The Ministry of Public Health stated that the conference will focus on reducing resistance to antimicrobial drugs, ensuring their proper use, and finding joint solutions to combat this challenge.
Sharafat Zaman Amarkhil, the ministry's spokesperson, said: "The purpose of this trip is to participate in the ministers' meeting on resistance to antimicrobial drugs in Jeddah. The conference will discuss ways to reduce the level of resistance to antimicrobial drugs. Additionally, there will be discussions on mitigating the declining effectiveness of antibiotics."
Meanwhile, some doctors in Afghanistan consider the participation of public health officials in such conferences beneficial.
Baz Mohammad Shir Baz, a physician, said: "This conference is seen as a critical step in uniting international efforts to combat resistant microbes, boosting patients' immune systems, and promoting sustainable health practices worldwide."
Previously, the Acting Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate had visited Switzerland, where he met with the Director-General of the World Health Organization to discuss controlling infectious diseases, eradicating polio, and standardizing healthcare services in Afghanistan.
